The JDG shares the same appearance, features, functions, applications, and technical specifications as the JDX. They also have identical internal structure and operating principles. The only difference is that the JDG is additionally equipped with a night-time lighting module.

Working Principle

The earth fault and short-circuit detection principles are the same as those of the 2-in-1 model.

The JDG adds three photodiodes and high-brightness LEDs to the basic 2-in-1 fault indicator design:

During daytime: When a line fault occurs, the indicator provides fault display via a flip flag mechanism.

At night: As ambient light fades, the resistance of the photodiodes increases, triggering the microcontroller. The flip flag resets, and the LEDs turn on to provide fault indication.

At dawn: If the indicator’s preset reset time has not yet elapsed, the photodiodes receive light, their resistance decreases, and the microcontroller resets the system. The LEDs turn off, and the flip flag mechanism is reactivated, restoring the daytime fault indication.
