Structural Features

The knife switch adopts dual contact blades arranged on both sides of fixed contacts and fastened by leaf springs and screws. In case of power system short-circuit, the electromagnetic clamping force generated between two parallel blades and leaf springs offsets contact repulsion force, achieving high dynamic thermal stability against short-circuit current.

Current-carrying components of the switch are mounted on the base via an insulating base plate made of glass fiber reinforced moulded plastic, which features high dielectric strength and mechanical strength. The operating pull rod is also manufactured from glass fiber reinforced moulded plastic with excellent mechanical robustness to guarantee the switch’s mechanical endurance.
