The Phase I project of the East China Gigawatt Wind-Solar-Storage Integrated Energy Base has completed full delivery of power distribution equipment. All high and low voltage outdoor power distribution units of the project adopt complete sets of equipment from Hongsu Electric, including 12kV ring main units, DFWK cable branch boxes, prefabricated non-metallic box-type substations, SCB dry-type transformers and matching SMC insulating housings. Leveraging the corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free merits of composite materials, the products resolve the industry-wide problems of rusting, water leakage and frequent anti-corrosion renovation of metal cabinets in coastal salt fog zones.
Coastal wind and solar stations are exposed to constant high humidity, heavy salt fog and intense ultraviolet radiation. Traditional galvanized steel cabinets suffer from rust and sealing failure within 3 to 5 years, incurring high annual maintenance costs. Hongsu SMC composite insulating housings are free from metal rust risks with a design service life of 60 years, requiring nearly no maintenance after commissioning. Built-in dew drainage and pressure relief structures are arranged inside the cabinets, and the three-compartment independent layout separates high-voltage, transformer and low-voltage sections to eliminate hidden dangers of internal short circuits and fire hazards.
The supplied equipment covers a full range of products: HXGN15 SF6 ring main units, American underground pad-mounted substations, noise-reducing dry-type transformers and XL-21 low-voltage power cabinets. All equipment undergoes integrated pre-assembly and commissioning before factory delivery, and only basic splicing is required on site to put them into operation, cutting the construction period by 60%. The project manager stated that Hongsu complete equipment integrates safe insulation, lightweight design and low-carbon performance. The non-metallic material eliminates eddy current loss and improves the power utilization efficiency of grid-connected photovoltaic and wind power systems. In-depth cooperation will be continued for the Phase II and Phase III energy storage booster stations.
